From June 4 to 11, President Wang Changping led a delegation to Malaysia and Japan, visiting Xiamen University Malaysia, the University of Malaya, Malaysia University of Science and Technology, Japan's Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics, J. F. Oberlin University, and Hosei University, with the aim of consolidating and deepening existing cooperation and actively expanding exchanges. The delegation included officials from the Personnel Department, the School of Foreign Languages, and the School of Computer and Cyberspace Security.
At Xiamen University Malaysia, the delegation held discussions with President Wang Ruifang and Vice President Zhang Ying. President Wang Changping introduced our university's educational achievements, disciplinary features, and cooperation intentions. President Wang Ruifang outlined the background and development of Xiamen University Malaysia. Both sides expressed their intention to promote mutual exchanges of faculty and students, build international faculty teams, develop postdoctoral training, and collaborate on high-level overseas study programs for students, jointly exploring new paths and models for international cooperation in higher education.
At the University of Malaya, the delegation held discussions with President Noor Azuan Abu Osman and Vice President Ramesh Singh. President Wang Changping highly praised the University of Malaya's academic standards and global influence and introduced our university's achievements and disciplinary characteristics, hoping to establish a friendly cooperative relationship, particularly in areas such as cybersecurity and carbon neutrality, and promote the exchange of faculty members. Noor Azuan Abu Osman warmly welcomed the delegation and praised our university's achievements, expressing hope for strengthened exchanges and the rapid advancement of substantial project cooperation.
At Malaysia University of Science and Technology, the delegation held discussions with President Premkumar and Vice President Emeritus Dr. Barjoyai Bin Bardai. Both sides introduced their educational achievements and disciplinary features respectively, discussing cooperation in international Chinese education, computer science, and information technology. A cooperation agreement was signed. The delegation also visited the university's IT Innovation Base and CNC Training Center.
At Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics, the delegation held discussions with President Youichi Terashita, Vice Presidents Liu Fei and Masayoshi Teta, and heads of network engineering and digital media programs. Both sides fully affirmed the results of their collaborative education programs and discussed optimizing curriculum design, enhancing recruitment publicity, exchanging faculty for teaching, establishing overseas practice and internship bases for students, and conducting summer academic research projects. The delegation also visited the Computer Museum and met with our university's exchange students there.
At J. F. Oberlin University, the delegation held discussions with Vice President Yoshiro Tanaka. Both sides reviewed over a decade of friendly cooperation and hoped to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation, discussing mutual recognition of credits, student exchange methods, educational arrangements, and cooperation on country and regional studies.
At Hosei University, the delegation held discussions with Vice President Kogimoto Tadanobu. Both sides recognized nearly ten years of cooperative achievements and hoped to further strengthen student exchanges and mutual visits, opening new channels for academic promotion and making breakthroughs in student exchange and credit recognition to enhance the attractiveness of cooperation projects. The delegation also met with our university's students studying there and held discussions with them.
During the visit, the delegation met with Zhao Changtao, the Education Counselor at the Chinese Embassy in Malaysia, introducing our university's continuous efforts to advance internationalization in education by leveraging its advantages in international Chinese education, geographical, personal, and industrial connections, and hoping for greater support and assistance from the embassy.
The delegation also met with Lin Tianyin, President of our university's Japan Alumni Association, and other alumni, introducing the university's recent achievements and encouraging alumni to connect with overseas alumni extensively, gather alumni resources, and promote the spirit of patriotism and love for hometown among overseas Chinese, helping to attract high-level talents to support the university's development.
Additionally, the delegation visited our university's visiting scholars in Japan, toured the renowned animation production company GAINAX Kyoto, Nippon Applied Informatics Society (NAIS), and the Cyber Kyoto Laboratory (CKL) and other enterprises.
