On November 28, the 2nd Cross-Straits Humanities Forum for Postgraduates and Postdocs sponsored by the Provincial Academic Degree Committee Office and hosted by FNU was held in the Science Hall on Cangshan campus. Xu Fuchang, Vice President of College of Liberal Arts of National Taiwan University (NTU), Fu Wuguang, former Director of the Department of Chinese of National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU), Wang wending, former Vice President of FNU, and heads of Graduate School and College of Chinese Language and Literature attended the opening ceremony.
Attendees of the forum with the theme of “Global Vision and Practice Innovation in Inheriting and Developing Chinese Excellent Traditional Culture” include 93 postgraduates and postdocs of 20 universities from Chinese mainland and Taiwan including National Taiwan University (NTU), National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU), National Central University (NCU), Shih Chien University (SCU), Yuan Ze University (YZU), National Pingtung University of Education (NPUE), National Yunlin University of Science and Technology (NYUST), University of Taipei (UT), Xiamen University (XMU), Huaqiao University (HQU), Minnan Normal University (MNU), Chongqing Normal University (CQNU), Hainan Normal University (HNNU). A total of 75 high-level academic papers were collected in the forum, and there were 2 first-prize winners, 4 second-prize winners and 6 third-prize winners.
After keynote reports delivered by experts, group discussion and youth roundtable meeting, postgraduates from both sides of the Taiwan Straits theoretically explored the way to inherit and develop Chinese excellent traditional culture from the perspectives of global vision and practice innovation. Experts at the meeting said that youths from both sides of the Taiwan Straits should be confident in Chinese culture to safeguard the shared spiritual home for Chinese, make more efforts to promote the Chinese culture and realize the great rejuvenation of the China.
