The International Society for Optics and Photonics (SPIE) recently released its 2019 list of SPIE Fellows, which included Prof. Tan Xiaodi from the College of Photonic and Electronic Engineering, FNU. SPIE, founded in 1955, is a well-known not-for-profit professional society and one of the most influential international academic organizations in electro-optics, dedicated to the exchange, collection, communication and application of knowledge in optics, photonics, electro-optics, imaging and image processing. Each year, SPIE selects Members from all over the world as new Fellows of the Society. Fellows are Members of distinction who have made significant scientific and technical contributions in the multidisciplinary fields of optics, photonics, and imaging. They are honored for their technical achievement and for their service to the general optics community and to SPIE in particular. This year SPIE honors 88 new Fellows of the Society, including 10 from the Chinese mainland.
Prof. Tan Xiaodi of the College of Photonic and Electronic Engineering of FNU is a doctoral supervisor and director of the Research Center of Information Photonics. His research interest is information photonics and has rich experience in the theoretical study and product development in optical information processing, storage and display and optical measurement.
